MI-AIMH offers a variety of committees with different levels of participation and involvement. Whether you’re looking to get involved or gain leadership experience to enhance your resume, we have a committee that fits your needs.

2026 MI-AIMH Biennial Conference Planning Committee

This committee is responsible for planning the MI-AIMH Biennial Conference. The goal is to ensure the conference aligns with MI-AIMH’s mission and the competencies that comprise Endorsement®. Participation opportunities vary from small, time-limited tasks to larger, more intensive roles. Subcommittees include Banquet, Networking, Workshops, Marketing, Policy Luncheon, Student Posters, and Scholarships.

MI-AIMH Board of Director Fund Development Committee

This committee collaborates with the central office to develop strategies for communication, fundraising, and marketing MI-AIMH’s products and message to potential donors. Key goals include increasing annual revenue and product sales.

MI-AIMH Board of Director Financial Oversight Committee

This committee ensures financial accountability and transparency within the organization.

MI-AIMH Board of Director Intellectual Property Oversight Committee

This committee oversees the protection and management of MI-AIMH’s intellectual property.

Professional Development Committee

Currently planning MI-AIMH’s fourth Reflective Supervision Symposium, set for 2025. This committee focuses on professional development opportunities for members.

Membership & Chapter Committee

This committee plays a crucial role in supporting MI-AIMH chapters across Michigan. Responsibilities include communicating with chapters, fostering connections, organizing news and member success stories, collaborating with other committees, and assisting chapters in strengthening their membership.

  • Time Commitment: 1 hour conference call every other month, frequent email communication, and approximately 1 hour per month on committee tasks.

IMH Statewide Training Planning Committee

Sponsored by MDHHS in collaboration with MI-AIMH, this committee plans and develops statewide Infant Mental Health meetings that support practitioners in the field, offer new knowledge, and provide networking opportunities.

Policy/Social Action Committee

This committee keeps members informed about social justice issues and policies at the local, state, and federal levels, especially those concerning children and families.

Centering Equity Committee

This committee fosters a reflective environment for ongoing conversations about oppression, privilege, racism, and related topics. It is a safe space for members to engage in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts and to reflect on practices that have historically caused harm, particularly to Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities.

Infant Crier Committee

The Infant Crier is MI-AIMH’s official online publication, offering articles, case studies, and news related to infants, toddlers, young children, and their families.

MI-AIMH Marketing Committee

This committee focuses on promoting MI-AIMH’s message and activities to a broader audience.

MI-AIMH Endorsement Advisory Committee

This committee provides guidance on MI-AIMH’s Endorsement® program, ensuring it remains relevant and effective.

Governance and Nominations Committee

This committee assesses the organization’s governance structures and practices. It also manages the nominations process for the Board of Directors, ensuring that the board composition aligns with MI-AIMH’s mission and vision.
