Hiram Fitzgerald Award

The Hiram Fitzgerald Emerging IECMH Scholar/Researcher Award: in recognition of scholarly commitment to research that reflects the importance of strengthening relationships, between infants, young children and families. This award is given to an emerging scholar (approximately five years to the IECMH research field) whose research is innovative and advances the field of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) through new ideas, approaches and/or concepts.  Their research and scholarly work is informed by IECMH principles and practices, and has a social justice lens that intentionally addresses the racial, ethnic, socioeconomic and other inequities embedded in systems that affect young children and their families.  Scholars whose inquiries focus on strengthening relationships and demonstrate a commitment to improving the quality of life for infants and young children and families and/or supporting IECMH professionals may be honored with this award.
