Theraplay: Building Strong Families and Emotionally Healthy Children and Adults

Theraplay® focuses on improving children’s behavioral and emotional challenges through the parent-child relationship. Parents and children are guided through playful games, challenging activities, and nurturing interactions. Theraplay helps children experience previously difficult interactions in new ways, helps overcome fear and increase trust, and creates a positive change in sense of self. Theraplay helps parents be attuned to children, understand the motives of behavior and underlying needs, manage environmental stimuli, and carefully challenge children in a safe place. This program is designed for anyone who would like to add Theraplay to their practices with children and families.

Presenter: Dafna Lender, LCSW

CEUs: CECHs and SSW-CEs available pending approval

Registration: $30 for members of sponsoring agencies, $80 for members of non-sponsoring agencies. Registration includes lunch.
