Matters of Equity: A social justice informed IECMH treatment approach
*limited to Michigan residents at this time*
This training aims to enhance a clinician’s ability to use a social justice lens– based in critical consciousness, empowerment and self-accountability– to inform anti-racists interventions. Together, we will explore how each of our social identities impact our roles as professionals, encouraging this through deep reflection on systems of oppression and identity of the self. Participants will be guided through informative and experiential activities allowing them to deepen their understanding of how to partner with families with young children using an equitable, culturally relevant, socially just approach that is transformative at the micro and macro levels.
Call to action: Video on! This is a training where we are talking about what it means to show up and to build a community around anti-racist practices. You are an integral part of this training process, we will be co-constructing and believe that being able to see one another will benefit this process. We ask that participants have their videos on throughout the entirety of this training. We also encourage that you take rest and practice self-care as needed throughout the training.
Prior to the training we will have a survey that we hope to send to each participant that has registered, once the survey is ready you will receive an email from us.
