The Explorations in Development Conference is brought to you by The Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute (MPSI), and the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health (MI-AIMH). This years theme, Relational Play Therapy for Toddlers and Preschoolers, addresses early childhood problems that require a variety of treatment interventions tailored to concrete developmental and mental health needs. The integration of relational play therapy into infant mental health increases the scope of treatment interventions, and can be viewed as a natural treatment extension to encompass the healing capacities of play for older toddlers and preschoolers.
Presenters:
Jennifer Farley, PhD., LMSW, RPT-S is an assistant professor with the School of Social Work at Eastern Michigan University, and former clinician and play therapist supervisor.
Melissa Threadgould, IMH-E® (III), LMSW is a senior mental health therapist with the Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton & Ingham Counties. Melissa has worked in community mental health for more than 17 years doing trainings and play therapy.
