This training addresses the importance of recognizing an FASD or other neurocognitive issues in very young children birth through six years old. It will also address recognizing FASD in caregivers of young children that may be impacting caregiving behaviors. The brain damage seen in FASD is examined in relation to why and how to modify approaches, along with common behaviors that result from this damage and that may result in misdiagnoses. Strategies for improving outcomes for the young child and their caregivers (parents/guardians/teachers/child care professionals) are highlighted.
