Providing a Holding Environment: Supervising Infant Mental Health Cases
This training will explore the many feelings evoked as Reflective Supervisor’s when we are challenged to be the holding environment for extremely heavy and complex situations. This trainer will lead the group in discussion to explore what it means and how it feels to supervise the most challenging cases. This trainer will use case examples to deepen discussion. This training is for Detroit Wayne Infant and Early Childhood Program Supervisors only.

Learning Objectives:
- Participants will describe goals, benefits, challenges, and expectations they experience as supervisors in addressing both administrative and reflective tasks.
- Participants will describe the 5 elements of the RIOS and identify examples of attributes and behaviors associated with the 5 RIOS elements.
- Participants will identify examples of attributes and behaviors associated with the 5 RIOS elements.
- Participants will discuss self-care and some new concepts in addressing it.
