DECA Clinical (ages 3-6) Webinar

June 13, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Event Navigation

The DECA-C is a standardized, norm-referenced behavior rating scale that evaluates behaviors related to social and emotional resilience and concerns in preschool children ages 2 through 5.  It is designed to support early intervention efforts to reduce or eliminate significant emotional and behavioral concerns in preschool children.  The DECA-C can be used to (1) guide interventions, (2) identify children needing special services, (3) assess outcomes, and (4) help programs meet IDEA, Head Start, and similar requirements.  This tool is being used in Michigan’s Mental Health System.

This webinar is designed to help participants:

  • Describe how the DECA-C is used in the context of providing mental health prevention and intervention services to young children.
  • Describe the development and psychometrics of the DECA-C
  • Effectively administer and interpret the DECA-C, including analysis and advanced interpretation
  • Use the DECA-C as a tool to guide professionals and families in developing strength-based and intentional plans to reduce challenging behavior in young children.

DECA Clinical User Requirements
Participants attending the DECA Clinical training need to meet qualifications of a Level-B user in order to purchase and use the DECA-C.  If a participant does not meet this criteria , they can attend this webinar and complete a competency  assessment with 90% accuracy in order to qualify to use the DECA-C.  Please click on the link — Level B User Qualifications — for more information on Level-B user Qualifications.

SW CEUs will be offered pending approval.
