Engaging Families with Infants and Young Children Through the Assessment Process in the CMH World
The first few visits with a new family are the beginning phase of the therapeutic relationship and sets the stage for the clinical work ahead. In this training particular focus will be given to the many different demands placed on CMH Infant Mental Health therapists at intake. This workshop will explore both the relational and internal processes at work when in the assessment phase. e will take a closer look at a framework for a clinically sensitive assessment while continuing to attend to the administrative needs. A deeper awareness of the stories presented allowed for a more meaningful and dynamic hypothesis to unfold, informing the therapist’s relationship based work.
