IMH Work When the Parent Has Borderline Personality Disorder: Using DBT Skills and Concepts to Support Regulation in Early Relationships
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills and concepts are useful tools to help increase sense of self in moms and babies. Unwanted behaviors usually appear when emotion is intense, as often happens when parenting. DBT concepts and skills help families have more control over behavior when situations increase the potential for acting on high emotion. Professionals will also learn skills to manage their own emotions as they help others. This training will give practical, researched strategies for everyone present in the service of helping families we serve as well as our own individual lives and professional practice.
