Functional Behavioral Analysis (FBA) is a powerful tool for identifying the underlying factors in behavior, particularly when there are multiple causes (e.g., medical concerns, sensory issues, relationship triggers, trauma, and intermittent reinforcement). However, analysis is more powerful when critical human motivators, such as attachment or intrinsic relationships drives are included. Additionally, behaviors have different meanings for higher functioning children than for lower functioning children, therefore, developmental level needs to be considered. This interactive course will review methods of FBA, and extend those methods for more advanced analysis and treatment using attachment, development, and neuroscience principles.
