Gather your MI-AIMH chapter members, colleagues, and co-workers!! We challenge you to host an event, big or small.
Take time out of your usual schedule and celebrate the incredible work you do, supporting and advocating infants, toddlers and their families. With our collaborated efforts, we are certain we will make a huge impression on the behalf of babies!
Suggestions based on past Celebrate Babies! events:
- Go out to lunch with your colleagues to celebrate your work together
- Case presentation with a discussion following
- A full or half day training (Need a trainer? Check the IMH Faculty Registry)
- Gather all 0-3 providers in a community to view a portion of the Reflective Supervision DVD & engage in discussion about the value of the reflective process
- Organize a toy drive for children 0-6 & donate to an organization in your community
- Host a brown bag lunch and view the documentary “Babies” (check the MI-AIMH Lending Library for other titles!)
- Give away copies of “For Now and Forever,” by Mary Mackrain, Bobbie Golani and Karen Cairone, along with chocolates, at an IMH workshop for Child Welfare and Head Start employees
- Lead a discussion about what it takes to be a great dad to a small father’s group
- Highlight the importance of parents in the lives of their young children at a local Head Start Q and A session for a “parent’s night”
We challenge each MI-AIMH chapter to host a diaper or baby food/formula drive during Celebrate Babies! week. You will compete against other MI-AIMH Chapters throughout the state!
Let’s get started:
- Select an organization or agency local to YOUR Chapter to donate items to
- Create marketing materials! E-mail your members a promotional document or language to use so that they can invite others to participate! Create signs to hand out to your chapter members to post within their agencies.
- Plan a chapter meeting during Celebrate Babies! week to collect/gather items — TAKE A PICTURE of your chapter celebrating together!
- At the end of Celebrate Babies!, tally your items & TAKE A PICTURE of the final result!
- Email Amy Delira (mi-aimhmembership@outlook.com) with your Chapter’s progress, send her your chapter pictures and let her know if you need any support along the way!
- Amy will announce the winner of the Celebrate Babies! challenge during the week of November 1
- Last but not least: DONATE ALL ITEMS!
If you need any support or assistance, please contact Amy Delira, Membership Chair.
