Early Childhood Learning Series
Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood
This two-day training will cover many common disorders of very young children (0-6) including a major focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Our presenter will lead us through red flags to be on the lookout for and what evaluation steps should be taken. This training will cover the diagnosis of “Global Developmental Delay” and the ways in which Infant Mental Health Clinicians can support families with this common diagnosis. This training will use video tape case examples to illustrate the material.

They are located in a strip mall. There used to be a Bally’s and the large red arch is still there – next to Burlington Coat Factory. When you enter the building Lincoln Behavioral Services is upstairs, there are stairs and an elevator. There are a couple of entrances, if you go in where you can see staff, they can direct you. If you go in where is says Training, there should be signs to direct you.

Learning Objectives:
- Participants will increase understanding of autism infancy and early childhood
- Participants will learn about recommended approaches for young children with autism
- Participants will be familiar with Neuromuscular Disorders
- Participants will learn about ADHD Diagnosis and Management in the young child, including recommended approaches
- Participants will increase understanding of why it can be difficult for children with disabilities to be “good”.
- Participants will be able to identify and use Evaluation Tools for Speech and Language in the Young Child.
- Participants will be able to identify how to support families in seeking help from medical professionals if there are development concerns.
- Participants will be able to identify through a case vignette, some ways to support families with Speech and Language Concerns
- Participants will increase understanding of high functioning autism and the challenges and treatment associated
- Participants will be able to identify what Functional Behavioral Analysis is
- Participants will be able to identify what Applied Behavioral Analysis
- Participants will increase understanding of the NICU experience for a newborn infant.
