Realistic Complexity: Comorbidity in IMH Services
Most cases presenting for IMH services are complex, including a list of comorbidities. This training will address common comorbidities that influence the work with the therapist, and the relationship with the child. Through discussion and activities, therapists will learn and practice strategies for effectively implementing IMH work in the context of complexity.

- Describe the foundations of infant mental health home visiting.
- Explain the intersection of parental mental health and infant mental health home visiting.
- Assess common parental mental health conditions that impact infant mental health home visiting.
- Relate the impacts of parental mental health on the parent-child relationship.
- Broadly explain evidence based treatments for common parental mental health conditions.
- Intervene in and support parent-child relationships in the context of parents’ mental health conditions.
