Relationships Matter: Attachment in the First Six Years of Life
Children’s first relationships are formed with their primary caregivers and form the template for future relationships. Relationship templates are present not only with the child’s primary caregivers, but also with childcare providers, teachers, and in other settings. It is important, therefore, that all professionals who interact with children are aware of how different attachment strategies can present. This training will explore how attachment is formed in the early years of life, the main secure and insecure attachment types, and how those types manifest from ages 0-6 years and across settings.
