Kids Priority 1 Website for Election Advocacy
The Michigan Coalition for Children and Families (MCCF has launched a new initiative, Kids Priority 1, to make children and youth THE priority during the 2008 election and the next legislative session and budget cycle.
MCCF has developed a website, www.kidspriority1.org, containing tips, templates, and tools for voters, candidates, parents, advocates, and children and youth to have a dialogue about child and family issues. You can learn how to register to vote, link to candidates’ web pages to learn more about their platforms, share fun ideas with families to bring democracy home and model citizenship, and ramp up your local election advocacy at candidate forums, interviews, and events.
MCCF is also offering t-shirts with Kids Priority 1 to wear at local candidate education events, PTA meetings, or out grocery shopping! Bulk orders are available for a donation to the cause (50 shirts for a $100 donation)!!
For more information on MCCF and our annual Children’s Agenda, budget and policy priorities, visit www.miccf.org or link from www.kidspriority1.org.
Please contact us if you have any questions, ideas, or want to promote a local child advocacy election event. Thanks and remember to make Kids Priority 1 in the Voting Booth on November 4!
