The Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health (MI-AIMH) Biennial Conference is the premiere professional development and networking opportunity for MI-AIMH members and infant mental health professionals from around the nation. This high-caliber virtual conference is solely dedicated to infant mental health best practices, attracting world renowned clinicians, policy makers, and research faculty who present cutting edge information about attachment, early relationship development, and reflective supervision for work with infants, young children and their families. The conference challenges our hearts and minds, deepens understanding of our work, and reenergizes our dedication to promoting and supporting secure, nurturing relationships early in life – when they matter most.

Hello Everyone,

We hope that everyone has had a safe and wonderful start to summer. Here is an update of a few changes that have taken place over the last few months. The first being that we (MI-AIMH board, central office staff, event planning team, Staci and I) have made the decision to move forward with a fully virtual 2022 MI-AIMH conference. We want to make sure everyone knows this was a very thoughtful decision. We appreciate everyone’s feedback from the survey. The survey helped us understand that folks are not ready to travel and be with a large crowd like we hope to have/typically have each year with our conference. The survey in combination with budget/contract restrictions and planning for everyone’s safety and comfort levels were the driving force behind this decision.
Some highlights to switching to virtual only is that we can pull from all over the Alliance for both participants and presenters. We are working hard to find a virtual platform that can offer the best experience possible for everyone. If you have any suggestions or thoughts that would be helpful please let us know. Also, if you want to join any of the committees let us know and we can make that happen too. While this planning process has been a bit bumpy, we are both very excited to see what opportunities this virtual space provides to MI-AIMH and what lessons we can learn and take in moving forward. The next few weeks are going to be busy, as we lay a different foundation. Thank you ahead of time to everyone who is helping along the way, we can’t do this without you!
Staci and Kelly
