Mother, sister and mother's best friend, with only child, a boy, six years old (husband/father was working ad could not be present). The boy was diagnosed with autism at four after diagnosis of PDD in infancy. The focus is on the family value of inclusion in family life and in education, the differences in parents' roles in childrearing, support from sister and friend in providing care, family attitudes toward diagnosis of autism and confronting attitudes with Latino culture toward children with special needs.
