Capital Area Chapter
Nurturing Relationships
The Capital Area Network for the Early Years (CANEY) is comprised of professionals working on behalf of infants, toddlers, and their families across multidisciplinary areas. CANEY members include early childhood educators, clinical social workers, early intervention specialists, Infant Mental Health specialists, occupational and physical therapists, psychologists, infancy researchers, and professionals dedicated to policy and advocacy issues. One of the primary purposes of CANEY is to provide a network through which joint collaboration and mutual support for common interests and goals may be promoted. Upcoming events through CANEY this year include informal brown-bag discussions as well as more formal training events, such an Infant Mental Health training series hosted by our chapter in Spring 2009.
Upcoming Events
Brown Bag: CANEY will host a brown bag to commemorate Celebrate Babies Week. Celebrate Babies Week is an event held statewide and worldwide to celebrate and remember the babies in our lives and in the world. Our meeting will focus on Dr. Watanabe's presentation that many of us heard on Oct. 10 about maternal depression. We will also discuss the training needs of CANEY members and develop a meeting schedule for the upcoming year. Please attend the meeting to give voice to your learning needs regarding babies. We will meet on Tues. Oct. 25, 2011 from 12-1:30 p.m. at CEICMH, 838 Louisa Street, Union Conference Room, located at the top of the handicap ramp, Lansing, Michigan, 48911. Bring a lunch and join your colleagues for conversation and time together. Questions: call Chris Clissold, 517-887-5264
Other Important Dates:
