As of October 2016, there are 26 state infant mental health associations and one international association who have licensed the use of the Competency Guidelines® and/or the Endorsement for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant Mental Health®. Each state association is a member of The Alliance for the Advancement for Infant Mental Health®.
Hawaii Association for Infant Mental Health (Competencies only)
Massachusetts Association for Infant Mental Health (Competencies only)
Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health (originators & copyright holders)
Mississippi is in the process of establishing an IMH association
First3Years Texas (formerly Texas Association for Infant Mental Health)
Since 2008, leaders from each association from the Alliance (League of States) meets for an annual retreat. Often, a primary focus of each retreat is on reflective supervision/consultation, i.e., creating a common understanding of the process, building capacity for providers & practitioners, and defining its essential components so it can be evaluated.
Each retreat provides an opportunity for associations to share lessons learned related to the promotion and implementation of the Endorsement®, as well as the development of competency-based training, collaboration with university partners, and the strengthening of the infant mental health association.
